History of Beaune
Beaune is a small and extremely beautiful historic town famous for its wine production situated in Burgundy, France.
It was founded as a small settlement in ancient times by the galls to become a flourishing roman city later.
In the Middle Ages Beaune was the capital of Burgundy, a sovereign political entity ruled by the Valois Dukes
who resided in Beaune. Thanks to this important role the town preserves many amazing monuments of the medieval
architecture of Western Europe.
